I've retired the S14, the Z32tt is now the winter beater. I had issues with poor mileage, but since sorting that out, completely went the other direction. On the past ~100 fill ups, I put in exactly 5gal. I average about 115 miles on 225/55/16's --LM22s. This is absolutely impressive, as for a few weeks it didn't get above -10*f. The interesting thing is, boost does not seem to not have an large affect on mileage. I'm at 13* timing, 13psi, NGK ZFR6f, Stillen Pop Charger chip (JWT) AEM dryflow filter, HKS exhaust/downpipes, Stock Turbos, All emissions removed, No A/C, Power Steering, M1 0w40. 8oz of MMO. One thing I used to tweak expected mileage is my Autometer Vac gauge. Cruising on the highway I used to be at -10-12 hg. I have since added an under-body panel in the rear, essentially to prevent the lower lip of the rear bumper from acting like a parachute. This seemed to have a substantial impact of vaccuum while cruising. I've since been around -15--17/hg cruising. The other overall impressive thing is, I have clipped the jiggle valve on the t-stat. My warm-up times in any temp is extremely long, even when blocking the from grille. I was expecting 8mpg at most. I would have to say, I'm extremely impressed with the Z32tt as a daily/winter beater. It also happens to have been the best handling car in the snow yet, contrary to what I've read/seen.
